The design of the network architecture and the security controls that have been implemented to segment and protect the network are a key component of the management of information security within an organisation.

Security Architecture Reviews examine the topology and deployment of the security boundaries within the organisation and make recommendations to increase the effectiveness of the security controls.

Examples of some areas that DMA can evaluate as part of a Security Architecture Review include:

  • Internet/perimeter gateways;
  • wireless infrastructure;
  • DMZ segregation;
  • remote access facilities; and
  • third party connectivity.

These areas will further strengthen the defenses of an organisation’s information systems if appropriately deployed.

DMA can work with your organisation to inspect network diagrams and relevant technical documentation, review them for accuracy and completeness, and compare them to the implemented architecture and against best practice.
